Falkland islands dispute?

well just recently the Argentineans called Britain arrogant for not negotiating with them over the islands but what is there to negotiate because they don't even have any claim to the islands and we were in control of them before argentina was even a independent nation so how can they say it is a claim if its only them say they should own because the islands are near argentina and if there is any country who should have a rightful claim is spain becuase they rightfully own the islands.
