Would people consider it controversial if I were to get an Aboriginal flag tattoo?

I was born in Australia from parents of direct and indirect British background (my dad is 100% Brit and my mother was born in Aus from Brit/Irish parents)... As far as I know, I have no blood connection with Indigenous Australians, but I am incredibly fascinated with Aboriginal culture and history and am an avid believer that all 'Australians' should know about their history and respect them. As a part of my love for this culture and history, I was considering getting an Aboriginal flag tattoo... more or less to symbolise that I acknowledge their rightful ownership of the land and their place in the history of it, and that I was born on this land (something today's Australians don't seem to care much for). I do think that if I were to get this tattoo and people knew I had no Aboriginal blood, they might find this stupid or meaningless, or even controversial? Would this be right?
