Can a farm tractor be used as a personal vehicle?

Like the title says. Is it legal to drive a farm tractor on a public roadway (highway, interstate, etc.)? I wrecked my station wagon last November during a torrential downpour right around Thanksgiving and I'm told the insurance is also less on a farm tractor. Like...just driving an old green Oliver farm tractor on a highway? I know RIDING lawn tractors aren't allowed, but what about FARM tractors?
